Sargas to demonstrate CO2 Capture in Pennsylvania, USA.
Sargas Inc, with its CO2 capture technology and PFBC- Environmental Energy Technology, Inc. with its pressurized fluidized-bed combustion (PFBC) technology will demonstrate wet waste coal burning and CO2 capture over a 3 year period at a 1MW plant. This demonstration will take place at CONSOL Energy Inc`s R&D facility in South Park, PA.
OBJECTIVES
- Install and integrate a CO2 separation unit at the PFBC Process Test Facility (PTF) located at CONSOL Energy’s R&D site at South Park, PA.
- Demonstrate the CO2 capture technology during PTF test burns, using wet waste coal.
-
Evaluate the performance of the integrated system, including aspects such as operability, extent of carbon capture, purity and characteristics of separated carbon dioxide, energy penalty of the carbon capture system, etc.
THE TEAM:
Sargas Inc. owns a proven and patented power plant technology that has achieved over 98% CO2 capture with NOX and SO2 removal from a coal fired pressurized combustion power plant.
PFBC-Environmental Energy Technology (EET) Inc. are experts in the field of pressurized coal combustion and have recently installed a Process Test Facility to test the use of waste coal as a fuel for power generation. The facility is located at CONSOL Energy`s R&D site in South Park, PA.
CONSOL Energy Inc. is the largest producer of bituminous coal in the United States and a leader in the production of coalbed methane gas. CONSOL has more wet waste coal than anyone in the world.
